MP Media Gallery Creating Personal Albums

While the Album creation has a lot of variables here is all you need to do.

CREATING ALBUMS

NAME - Name your album
DESCRIPTION - Describe your Album
ICON - "Browse" and upload an album cover like a picture :)
POSITION - Your first album has only one postion so just leave it "before"
TARGET - Your first album has no target but others will :)
DEFAULT SORT ORDER - This will be how your album pictures are sorted for visitors.
ITEM VIEW - "Normal" means people will see your picture album cover.

THE ONLY OTHER SETTINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER

ALLOWED MEMBERS (read access) or (write access) - (read access) means they can see your albums. (write access) means they can upload in your album. By default anyone can see your albums but NO ONE can upload in them. If you want certain members to be able to upload in your album list their member names followed by commas like:  jane, mary, mike,

PASSWORD - If you enter a password then NOBODY will be able to see your album except the people you give the password.

Just ignore the rest and be happy!

Click this link to create your first Personal Album http://www.melindaspenpals.com/penpal-community/index.php?action=media;area=mya;sa=add

ADDING PICTURES OR MEDIA TO YOUR PERONAL ALBUMS

SINGLE UPLOADS - Means one item as a time

TITLE - Title your Item.
DESCRIPTION - Describe your item.
FILE TO UPLOAD - Use "browse" if you are uploading an item from your PC.
OR EMBED URL - If you are embedding an item (like Youtube) just paste the URL
KEYWORDS - Enter keywords for your item.
USE THIS FILE AS THUMBNAIL - To create a thumbnail picture for an Embed item.
   - Use this item's thumbnail as the album icon - Checking the box will change your Album cover to the new Thumbnail. Do you want to change it?
_____________________________ ___________

MASS UPLOADS - This means uploading many items from your PC at one time just like with Facebook. A great new feature to save time.

SORT ORDER - How they will be sorted
SELECT FILES - Opens your PC to select items. Hold down the Ctrl key while selecting each item.
UPLOAD - Upload all the items.
ENTER A TITLE AND DECRIPTION - Title each item and describe it.
SUBMIT - Click submit and they will be entered into your album.

Any problems please post on the boards!

Community Albums

If you upload gallery items in the Community Albums I created (Ladies, Men, Couples) these items are not private. This is the same as the previous set up on the old server. Any items you place in these galleries are viewable to anyone including guests.

Personal Albums

You decide whether your personal albums are viewable. When you grant "Read Access" this means the groups you give "Read Access" to can see them. If you do not want guests seeing your pictures in an album then uncheck "Read Access" for guests.  You should not give "Write Access" to anyone unless you are sharing an album and want other members to upload in it. YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE GUESTS "WRITE ACCESS" TO YOUR ALBUM, EVER!

Profile Viewing

Profiles are now viewable by guests like the old forum. Whether guests see your recent Album pictures in your profile depends on the "Read Access" you gave your album. If no "Read Access" then they cannot see the image.

You can always sign out and view your profile to see what a guest would see.
