Asian Dating Trend

Asian online dating and Asian ladies in general have become very popular over the passed decade. Asian ladies are now sought out by many western men in search of a soul mate. Asian women from the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, China and even Vietnam are dating and marrying men from the western world.

Why is this Asian lady dating trend growing? Dating experiences among western men and women have become less fulfilling over the passed ten years, and many guys have just given up and quit the rat race. Dating is often seen as a competition, a sport, a spectacle or just something to laugh about the next day at work in front of the water cooler. Ask an American or European guy involved in a relationship with an western lady who wears the pants. You may hear things like she wears the pants, we both wear the pants, and sadly in some cases guys have just thrown in the towel and put on a dress.

On the other side we have young beautiful Asian ladies, many that grew up in a household where a woman is to be seen but not heard. Ask any Asian lady from the far East if she grew up in a male dominated household, and often the answer is yes. As these Asian women begin to date, many of them have their hopes set on a better future. It is not about wanting to wear the pants, it is more of a desire to date men that can appreciate and respect them. Men that can offer them a better future and a say in important family matters. Many of these Asian ladies have strong family values instilled in them, which will make them great future wives and mothers. This in combination with their beautiful and exotic looks make these ladies very desirable.

Who are the losers in all of this? Just look around at all of the single and divorced western ladies with no real prospects. I am talking about ladies in their 30's and 40's that priced themselves right out of the dating market. Maybe 10 years ago these ladies were in the drivers seat, but now with middle age approaching and bellies sagging many guys just do not care about them anymore. The quest for absolute and total equality became more important that courtship and dating, and the end result is a lot of lonely and aging women on Prozac. As these ladies resign to a life of being alone, many guys in their 30's, 40's and 50's have realized they still have options.

This dating article was not meant to offend, and I make no claiming to be some authority on dating. I was just exploring the growing trend of the East - West couple, and trying to understand the dynamics behind it all. These observations were based on my own experiences, and also from listening to the comments made by men and women on my dating website. Maybe in 20 years the Asian dating trend will explode, or maybe it will just simply fade away. It will depend on many social factors which influence dating in the west. 11/05/05 Scott B.
